Our Story It is only fitting that the very first and signature house blend developed by founder and Master Roaster, Christian Waskiewicz, for Alpen Sierra Coffee, reflect the roots of the company in title, as well as the deep character of the blend, which is like the rich and lingering light of a fine day on the mountain; something wonderful to behold. The vision for Alpen Sierra was conceived in 1988 while Christian was on a rainy day trek on the Dachstein in the Steiermark region of the Austrian Alps.

The one that started it all!

I’ve been purchasing and enjoy Alpen Sierra Coffees for over 3 decades at this time. I’m current enjoying some of their coffee as I’m writing this review. Their coffee never disappoints. Rich, full-bodied, with all the right flavor notes. Not too acidic and not burnt during the roasting process. I’m a black coffee drinker, and I dislike overly acidic coffee, which is far too common today. I’ve told many friends, family members, and acquaintances that Alpen Sierra is the best coffee in America, to which chuckles, giggles, and “yeah, right” is typically heard…until they try it. Once they’ve had a sip or two, comments like “What is this??” “Who make it??” “Where can I buy some?!” are invariably provoked. Do yourself a favor, buy yourself some Alpen Sierra Coffee. You can’t go wrong!
