Similar to a big, jammy Petite Sirah red wine, our Sumatra Suku Batak offers an individual character in the cup, unlike no other origin. It is heavy bodied with mellow acidity, offering flavors of cedar, fresh earth, leather, and herbal nuance. The dark roast lends some sweet, syrupy caramelization to the finish.

Our Story
Another La Minita group trademarked coffee, the beans are grown in the Lintong province of North Sumatra, south of Lake Toba. It is a clean, double-picked, Grade 1 preparation. Sumatran coffees are in a league of their own. We would rate these coffees in the somewhat polarized, love / hate appeal category for single origins. At Alpen Sierra we love ’em.
