Our Story
Coffee from the Indo Pacific region of Sumatra has always had its own special character. Since the Dutch traders of the 18th century brought to the islands of Indonesia coffee starts from the Red Sea region, Sumatra and its quite unique method of semi-washed, or “Gilling Basah”, literally meaning wet-hulled, processing produce coffees of one-of-a-kind character.
Every good coffee roaster will utilize the Sumatran coffee as an essential anchor in blends, and offer these coffees, when they are of individual superior quality, as a distinctive single origin.
